Susan Withnell is the fiber artisan of Ewes-ful Fiber Arts Studio. She has been spinning and weaving for over 20 years. Susan breeds and raises rare breed Wensleydale sheep on her farm in Westminster, MD. Their fiber provides the wool used in the hundreds of skeins of hand spun and hand dyed yarns that she sells (along with hand woven items) at Artisan shows in the Mid Atlantic. Susan is the chair of the Sheep to Shawl Contest for the Maryland Sheep and Wool Festival and also judges Sheep to Shawl contests for other events. She teaches handspinning from her studio in Westminster, runs a fiber arts camp for children for a week every summer in Waterford Virginia and frequently demonstrates spinning yarn at festivals, fiber guilds, knitting groups, artisan shows, and agricultural fairs in the United States and England. In 2021, she was proud to be named Demonstrating Artistan of the Year at the Waterford Fair, in Waterford Virginia.
