Ken Koons, was a staff photojournalist for 37 years. He has garnered praise and numerous awards for his photographs, videos and creative projects.

In addition to his documentary work, Ken is a respected builder of musical instruments and teaches traditional carpentry and blacksmithing methods. He also is a profession musician, regularly performing traditional Celtic and Nordic acoustic music. He built his log house and tends organic gardens at his central Maryland home.
