Limit: 10 students, ages 16 and up.

‍Discover how to transform pigments extracted from plants and minerals into a variety of artist paints and inks. 

In the outdoor Grove Studio we will isolate and grind pigments, discuss binders, make paint, and make and print with ink.

We will make vine charcoal and paint brushes from plant fibers. 

The week’s effort will reward you with various artists materials to take home including a palette of natural paint colors, vine charcoal for drawing, a bottle of ink, and quality paint brushes from twigs.

Materials fee: $40 includes pigments cases, ink bottles and supplies.

Students should bring a dust mask, work apron, journal, pencil/pen.
