An artistic child and young man living in Mexico, Lalo Carrera moved to the United States  with his family and to work when he was 19.  He took art classes in various private schools in the USA. Lalo learned mosaics the first time he came to Common Ground 13 years ago studying with Rich Ramirez. He enjoyed this experience so much he repeated the class about 10 times becoming exceptionally proficient in the use of mosaic tools and techniques.  Lalo paints in acrylics and works in mosaics in his free time. Lalo has shown in galleries and museums in Delaware.
