The class is designed for intermediate to advanced students who are looking to build their repertoire of tunes suitable for playing dances and concerts. In this class, we will also explore the historical background of tunes shared by communities both black and white throughout Appalachia and beyond. We will explore various tunings and bowing approaches to get that “Old-Time sound” as well as techniques used in both older and newer Old-Time fiddle styles.
