Students will learn what defines Swing music, its history, how it relates to other American music, important musicians, notable recordings, how to critically listen, and basic harmonic and rhythmic concepts that will apply to any instrument.

NOTE: All are welcome, but students may find this class more useful if they play an instrument and have basic knowledge of it such as note names and how to find them, and how to make a basic major chord (if applicable).
