Learn techniques necessary to play easier swing tunes alongside other musicians.
Students will be shown the techniques necessary to play easier swing tunes alongside other musicians, including chord shapes (major, minor, sixth, seventh, and diminished), basic rhythms (four-to-the-bar and Charleston), important musical forms (blues, AABA and ABAC), how to read and interpret a chord chart, and how to listen to other musicians.
PREREQUISITES: Students should be able to find middle C on the keyboard, make a basic major chord, play a C scale, and some basic knowledge of notes on a keyboard. Reading music is not necessary.
Schedule a week or two, or three! Or, just sprinkle some classes in between other commitments.
