Discover transformative justice, a concept offering an alternative system grounded in prevention of harm.
The justice system as it stands right now is not designed to prevent harm, it only responds to it. Transformative justice is a theoretical concept, that is meant to be employed in practice, that offers an alternative to the current legal system that is grounded in punitiveness and reactivity as opposed to prevention. This course will cover the origins of the transformative justice movement, its overarching principles, and how it has been, and should be, applied in practice.
