Discover the history and crafts of Indigenous cultures of the Lower Susquehanna River Valley, and how that has translated to the present.
This class will disarm long-told extinction narratives, by examining various historical and contemporary Indigenous cultures living in and in relation to the Lower Susquehanna River Valley. This class mixes lecture, discussion, and hands-on activities to create engaging and immersive learning experiences. Our discussions will include the exploration of several digital knowledge resources created in collaboration with local Indigenous peoples as well as learning two or more traditional and contemporary craft mediums.
