This class will concentrate on the string ragtime of the 20s and 30s. Papa Charlie McCoy, Coley Jones, Howard Armstrong and others will be composers we visit. Syncopated and hot, stomps and rags were the precursors of bluegrass gypsy jazz. Vicksburg Stomp, Dallas Rag and other classics will be taught.

All instruments are welcome.
