Don’t miss this chance to learn from one of the most important bluegrass banjo players in the history of the genre. Tony’s influence and stature in the banjo world cannot be overestimated. His name will live in history with Earl Scruggs, Ralph Stanley, Bill Keith and his student, Bela Fleck. With a solid foundation in traditional styles, Tony has led for over fifty years, progressive banjo world, causing the New York Times to write “Trischka is known as the father of modern bluegrass” and Time Magazine call him an “urban bluegrass whiz.” Perhaps NPR said it best in calling Tony “the great bluegrass liberationist.” All that said, Tony is also a dedicated teacher. You will emerge from this class inspired to find your own voice on the banjo after being treated to a ride through Tony’s progressive repertoire.
