Explore different drawing media and techniques
In this course, we will use various drawing techniques to explore the intricacies of the natural world. We will practice form, composition, value, and color in still lives composed of organic forms. Take a closer look at plant matter, animal bones, bird nests, and more! This flexible course will start with the basics, then offer opportunities to explore different drawing media including charcoal, colored pencil, and more.
Limit: 15 students, ages 16 and up (age 12 -15 with accompanying adult)
Materials fee: $5 includes drawing paper, fixative, use of miscellaneous drawing supplies.
Materials student should bring: All of the required materials can be purchased online or in store at Blick or Michael’s, at your local art store, or on Amazon. Blick tends to have the most competitive pricing (even better than Amazon), so I recommend ordering from them.
You may also bring any of the following media if you already have them: pen and ink, colored pencils, tinted charcoal, pastels, pastel pencils, watercolor pencils, or watercolors.
Schedule a week or two, or three! Or, just sprinkle some classes in between other commitments.
