Students will carve, finish and paint a stylized Mourning Dove in a very expressive manner. The instructor is a master carver who will share his wisdom and experience about carving wood, bringing life to a bird sculpture, as well as demonstrate his finishing techniques. Finished sculpture will be signed, then mounted on brass rods on a finished hard wood base. You will be creating a sculpture you can treasure forever! ‍

NOTE: This is a 3-period class!

Materials Fee: $50 includes wood blank, the hard wood stand that finished work will be on, all the fillers, the glass eyes, paint, brass rod.
Materials student should bring: Work apron, stuff to take notes, cell phone to photograph process or demonstrated techniques. If student has their own carving set and whetstone bring it!
