Semi-precious and precious stones have been included in jewelry for millennia. Stones add color and sparkle, they are imbued with meaning, and many believe they have healing properties. In this class students will learn the basics of bezel setting cabochon stones and will use those skills to create a ring with a bezel set stone of their choosing. Tab-setting will also be explored as a variation. Students will gain experience in soldering and fabrication, precision fitting, and patinas and finishing.

Limit: 8 students, ages 16 and up.

Lab fee: $10 for consumables

Materials fee: $15-$50 depending on student choice of cabochon stones, fine silver bezel wire, sterling silver wire, flat stock, and sheet. Items available at market value.

Students should bring:
