This class is for the very beginning banjoist and will focus on the basics of 3 different old-time playing styles: two finger picking, upstroke, and frailing/overhand/clawhammer styles. The goal of this class is to help students choose the style(s) which fits them best and give students the knowledge to start on their banjo journeys. Other topics of discussion may include, but are not limited to: history and evolution of the banjo, old-time banjo players, and Appalachian music and culture.
