Bio

Eve Blackwater is a NYC playwright and musician with a background in theater, education and circus arts. Her recent play, Brokeneck Girls: The Murder Ballad Musical was nominated for a Broadway World award, recommended in Time Out New York’s “Best Halloween Theater of 2023” and returned to the stage in March 2024. She is an active member of the downtown art scene, playing music that encompasses folk, punk, indie and blues, and the front person for Brokeneck Girls, an all female band that draws attention to the phenomenon of violence against women in music. Eve continues to do both screen and stage acting work, and has held music residencies and hosted open mics at many of New York’s popular venues. Favorite projects have included starring in the cult horror movie “Gothkill,” directing Shakespeare for at-risk teens, running a live-streaming channel on Twitch and leading songwriting workshops for the Greenpoint Songwriters Exchange.

Brokeneck Girls: The Murder Ballad Musical received a Sell Out Award and Best Musical at the New York City Fringe Festival Awards, 2024. See the article HERE!
